I LOVE PEARLS
All the pearls are handmade and designed to be asymmetrical so every little pearl
is truly unique. The pearls comes in three sizes and 17 lovely colours.
First the porcelain is dyed in the different colour tones and left to dry. Then the
pearls are hand rolled, formed in to the shape and each pearl carefully polished
before the first firing. Prior to the second firing the pearls are dipped one by one
into a transparent glaze to make the colours stand out and give them a beautiful shine.
Now the pearls are ready and the process of creating a piece of jewelry can begin.
COLOURS
White, soft pink, sand, light grey, medium grey, dark grey, greyblue
soft lavender, light purple, turquoise, powderblue, iceblue, light olive
emerald green, apple green, light yellow and black.
FIRST FIRING
The pearls are ready for the first firing. Since they have not been glazed yet the colours are still visible and they can lay side by side without melting together.
SECOND FIRING
The pearls have been dipped into a transparent glaze and carefully placed on metal cords.
It is very important that they do not touch each other or else they will melt together.
FINISHED PEARLS
After being fired twice and spending almost 50 hours in the kiln all the lovely colours have become visible with a beautiful shining surface.
The pearls are now ready for my new jewelry line.
If you use your piece of jewelry a lot or everyday, in time it can get a little damaged.
If the piece gets broken, the silk gets dirty or the silver gets dark then bring it to the shop or send it to me and I will repair it for free.
